Side shaft Harness

The dual shaft/side shaft harness is the same design as the Mini harness only without the Mini
connection hardware inside and outside the top pad. This harness is designed to be used with traces and
cannot be used to pull from the shafts. There are "floating trace connectors" that connect the traces to
the harness body that keep an even pull on both the top and bottom of the harness, and self-adjust for
the angle caused by a non-parallel trace connection points on the cart or sulky.

The shaft loop configuration is the same as found on equine harnesses. The loops are adjustable both in
diameter for different sized shafts as well as vertically on the harness to accomodate shaft height off
the cart's frame. The shaft loop attachments are removeable from the harness for adjustment and
laundering.
The webbing separates from the pads so all can be machine washed and replaced if lost or worn, or a
change of colors is desired. Most of the straps are mounted on rings, so they slide in and out to conform
to the width of your dog's body and all straps (except the top assembly are adjustable in length for a
perfect fit. Each harness will have a tag sewn on with your dog's name.

Generally, other pading is not necessary due to the width of the harness webbing, it's softness, and the
adjustability of the fit.

For a base setup for one dog,(shown above) you will need one harness, and usually one set of traces and
a driving collar and reins if the cart is a sulky. See the "Other Dog Driving Tack and Accessories" page
for those. There are instructions there for what they are and how they work.

1) Review the colors shown below and select your webbing color for each dog's harness.

2) Review the colors shown below and select your pad color for each dog's harness. Some colors are
faux fur and some are fleece. If you want, I can send you a photo of the webbing and materials you've
chosen before I make it up.

3) Go to the Measurement form and print one copy of the form for each dog. Measurement Form

4) Complete the forms for each dog, Collar size(if applicable) and measurements for A,B,C only.
Be sure to look at the box at the bottom of the form to see if your measurments are in line with
what's typical. A little off is OK, but a lot means you might have measured incorrectly. All straps on
the harnesses are adjustable, so don't fret over this too much and ask me if you have questions.

5) Go to the "Other Dog Driving Tack and Accessories" page and choose the color and style for the
driving collar, traces, reins and any other items you might need for multiple dogs. There are
instructions on each item.
